Ryky regularly gets product recommendation requests from EDC (Every Day Carry) and pocket knife owners. They want something compact, relative to normal-sized whetstones, but offer the same sharpening and polishing experience as one would get with quality Japanese whetstones. After some research, there were very few options for quality whetstones that suited the needs of such knife owners.

So, when designing these whetstones, he wanted to offer something the EDC and pocket knife community could appreciate. Ryky designed the “mini set” to be small enough for easy transport, but large enough, to not feel awkward for users with larger hands.  You can comfortably sharpen a 2” blade on a pocket knife, all the way up to 4”+ with ease, and experience what it is like to sharpen and polish on professional grade Japanese whetstones.
