Suehiro “Super Fine” Finishing Whetstone #8000

by Suehiro

$99.95

The Suehiro "Super Fine" Finishing Whetstone #8000, sometimes (incorrectly) known as Rika #8000, is the only #8000 polishing whetstone Ryky has used that requires a pre-soak, which gives it a very different feel than any other 8K polishing whetstone. The cutting speed of this whetstone is also surprising, since it is among the fastest cutting 8K whetstone Ryky has tested. At #8000 grit, it is entering the mirror polishing range.

For those looking for such a finish, it is possible to jump from a 1K sharpening whetstone to an 8K, without any problems. Or add a 3K in-between for easier transition. Carry on the Rika lineage within the Suehiro professional family, the "Super Fine" Whetstone #8000 offers great durability, reliability and sharpening satisfaction.

How to clean:

If the stone’s performance is slowing down, or seems to be diminishing, you can clean using a rust eraser, nagura stone (included), dressing stone, or a flattening plate. Be sure to clean the entire surface of the whetstone when using any of these methods to ensure even wear of the whetstone’s surface.
